How We Accomplish Our Mission

WEDNESDAY

For children between 4 and 7 years old, we work with them on reading and writing (in Spanish) so that they can have proper writing and spelling, as well as the fine motor skills required to write properly.  Likewise, we work with their reading progress, so that they also achieve an understanding of what is being read.

For children between 8 and 14 years old, we work with them on mathematics.  We saw the need to help them with topics such as multiplication, division, and mathematical reasoning, since we know that these are essential bases for more complex topics within math.  If the students fall behind in any of these areas they are likely to drop out of school entirely, and we want them to succeed!

THURSDAY

We again divide the children into two groups so that we can work with them on learning English.  Being bilingual will greatly increase each child's ability to find well-paying, meaningful employment in the future.

For the children from 4 to 9 years old we focus on basic vocabulary words, such as emotions, daily vocabulary, weather, numbers, etc.  For the older children, from 10 to 14 years old, we focus on vocabulary necessary for having conversations in English.

FRIDAY

Discipleship is our big focus for Friday activities.  We have games to engage the children and create an emotional bond, plus the games help them learn to relate in a healthy way with other children. Values such as respect, patience, and honesty, as well as listening skills and the ability to following instructions are also taught through game time.

For our Bible time, children from 4 to 9 learn about Bible characters: who they are, what they did, and how God used them.  We encourage the kids to apply to their lives the lessons we learn from each Bible character.

With the adolescents from 10 to 14 years old we are working on getting them to know God, who He is, and how to relate to Him. We are also encouraging them to understand their identity in Christ and what He says about them.

We believe that one of the ways to rescue these children from the path of life that they know (drug addiction, promiscuity, and human trafficking) is through education.  This is one of the ways they can have a better quality of life, so with our expansion to three days we included an educational component.

All of these weekly activities are accompanied by a plate of food, which also supports families with feeding their children.  We trust that these activities will make them feel loved and important to God. This will make them feel capable of moving forward and achieving the purposes that God has placed on their lives.

WEDNESDAY

We are praying about the possibility of expanding the club to two days a week, so we would covet your prayers for wisdom and direction as we seek God's plan for the ministry.

THURSDAY

El Clúb in Santa Fe looks very similar to the Friday agenda in Anapra.  We have games to engage the children and create an emotional bond, crafts to help get their creative juices flowing, and Bible lessons to help them learn about God and how much He loves and cares for them!
